On customer’s request SPETECH seals can be accompanied by the EN 473/EN ISO 9712 compliant Nondestructive or Destructive tests.

To the specimens failure, in order to understand a specimens performance or material behaviour under different loads. These tests are generally much easier to carry out, yield more information, and are easier to interpret th Nondestructive testing (NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and technology industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage. Because NDT does not permanently alter the article being inspected, it is a highly valuable technique that can save both money and time in product evaluation, troubleshooting, and research.

In Destructive testing (DT) tests are carried out an nondestructive testing. Destructive testing is most suitable, and economic, for objects which will be mass-produced, as the cost of destroying a small number of specimens is negligible. From the other hand it is usually not economical to do destructive testing where only one or very few items are to be produce. But because of high importancy of application, extereme working conditions and high reliability of seals - Spetech products sometimes are subject of Destructive testing (most popular are: Impact tests / Hardness tests / Metallographic tests).

We describe here most popular Nondestructive or Destructive tests methods available for SPETECH seals. Many others testing methods & approvals are available on special request.
