Easily and reliably seal glass-lined steel to contain aggressive media, protect equipment, and reduce emissions.

Universal Application Range on Large Glass-Lined-Steel Flanges Glass-lined steel equipment is used by chemical processers to deal with aggressive media under demanding conditions. Yet the inherent demands of such systems – high temperatures, alternating system pressures, limited gasket loads and deviation of sealing surfaces – can make it challenging to maintain a tight, lasting seal.

GORE ® Gasket Tape Series 1000 addresses all the challenges of reliably sealing large glass-lined-steel flanges. Made of 100% expanded PTFE (ePTFE), this highly conformable tape is chemically inert, and highly resistant to creep, cold flow and clamp-force loss. Its proprietary barrier core maintains an extra tight seal even at low loads.

Form-in-place gasket solution, as GORE® Series 1000 Gasket Tape, may be used for preparation of a gasket of any shape and unlimited size, but the standard application area covers large (>600 mm) glass-lined steel flanges of reactors, columns, heat exchangers and tanks in chemical process installations.

GORE® Series 1000 Gasket Tape can be applied on large reactors without complete disassembling (lifting the top lid with attached agitator). This is a significant economical factor, allowing for saving of time and resources.

The joint does not represent a weak point of the gasket, as confirmed by independent body (TÜV) in TA-Luft Certificate.

GORE® Series 1000 Gasket Tape is recommended as standard gasket solution for large glass-lined-steel flanges by the leader in this market segment, De Dietrich Process Systems.

Available standard sizes of GORE® Series 1000 Gasket Tape

GORE® Series 1000 Gasket Tape is available in all combinations of:

  • thickness 6,0 and 9,0 mm.
  • width 40, 55 and 65 mm.
  • spool lengths are 5, 10 and 15 m.

In addition, 3,0 mm compensation tape is available in all widths, on 5 m spools.

Detailed installation instructions and recommendations on size selections are contained in Gore literature.

NOTE: Gore recommends to use GORE® Universal Pipe Gasket (Style 800) thickness 6,0 mm as a preferable gasket for glass-lined-steel pipe joints of smaller diameters.
