Friction factor testing rig is dedicated for usage together with PowerPress#1 and designed in accordance with the provisions of the EN 13555 standard. The determined values are friction factors between flange face - gasket surfaces. Friction factor determining tests can be performed at various loads and temperatures. According to the EN 13555 standard, the load is the Qsmin (L) value is determined earlier in separate tests. And concerning temperatures – tests are carried out at ambient temperature and at elevated temperatures - testing capabilities of our laboratory are up to 500°C. The determined coefficients can be used directly in the calculation of flange connections made in accordance with the standards EN 1591-1: 2014.

Typical testing input data are:

- type of material / type of gasket,

- roughness of contact surfaces (usually Ra = 3.2µm, 6.3µm, 12.5µm)

- testing temperature from RT up to 500°C
