Applications:
SPETOGRAF® gaskets GUS®30 style and GUS®40 style are applied in petrochemical industry and refineries, power and heat generation and in all the installations with exposure to high temperature media. Applied in the construction of the pipelines, valves, vessels and heat exchangers; typical working temperatures -200 ÷ +450°C in customized versions up to +550°C

SPETOGRAF® GUS®40 style are gaskets manufactured from the top quality graphite sheet SIGRAFLEX® Hochdruck composed of multi-layer laminate from metal foil of 0,05 mm thickness and graphite foil of desinty 1,1 g/cm3 and thickness 0,45 mm bonded together in a proprietary process without any glue. The sheet has very high resistance, the highest of all sealing materials used at present; applied in tongue and groove, male and female, flat and raised face flanges in all dimension standards; also as a gasket in high pressure liquid level gauges. Only nuclear grade graphi-te, impregnated on the surface. SPETOGRAF® GUS®40 gaskets have often very small width < 5mm. In flat and ra-ised face flanges SPETOGRAF® GUS®41 style is preferred due to increased sealability and resistance to blowout, cor-rosion and chemical degradation of the gasket. Above mention criteria make it a high-quality gasket. SPETOGRAF® GUS®43 style for man- , handholes and similar applications. Application of SPETOGRAF® GUS 41IZ, GUS 41JZ styles with centring ring allows for optimization of the sealing joint by reduction of the gasket’s sealing area and thus eco-nomical use of the graphite sheet; metal centring part allows for adding the locating lugs which facilitate the instal-lation, e.g. in case of vertical flanges. SPETOGRAF® GUS®41I, GUS®41IZ styles with metal core are applied in case of either very high contact stress or at very large diameters to ensure rigidity and protect the gasket from damage; ap-plied at dimension DN>900 and in specific situation, where thicker gaskets are required; in order to increase the recovery and ability to adapt to uneven, wavy flange faces, the metal insert may be also from corrugated steel ring: GUS®41J, GUS®41JZ; in case of both corrugated and flat steel inserts it is possible to manufacture the gasket of va-ried thickness on the circumference for old, non-parallel flanges.

SPETOGRAF® GUS®30 gaskets are manufactured from SIGRAFLEX® Universal sheet that is from graphite foil of pu-rity >98%C bonded by means of 1.4401 stainless steel insert; the surface of the graphite layer is treated with spe-cial impregnation agent protecting the graphite from water and accidental scratches, increasing its sealability, opti-mized technology of the steel insert protects the flange flaces from damage; gaskets delivered in the following thick-nesses: 1; 1,5; 2; 3mm; styles GUS®31I, GUS®31 J, etc. with a steel insert may have any thickness. SPETOGRAF® GUS®31 style is considered to be so called high quality gasket for sealing the installations with flammable and toxic fluids. It has increased sealability and blowout resistance. GUS 32 style is preferred for the gaskets made from seg-ments and joined by the manufacturer, where the outer steel eyelets increase the rigidity of the gasket during the transportation (for DN>900); outer metal eyelet is also applied at temperatures above 400oC to protect graphi-te from oxidation; at temperatures above 550oC the eyelet is manufactured from silver; GUS®32 Z may be also ap-plied in flat flanges GUS®33 is the gasket applied in the inspection man- and handholes. For large diameter gaskets or in case of very high contact stress the styles with the steel insert of custom thickness are applied - GUS®31I, GUS®31IZ These styles are applied in high contact stress joints, where simultaneously the substantial thickness of the ga-sket is required, and in segment product as a rigid, resistant to damage sealing solution (e.g. for large flages accor-ding to MSS SP44, ASME B16.47). SPETOGRAF® GUS 31 J, GUS 31 JZ styles have the insert from corrugated ste-el ring, which improves the recovery and conformability; gaskets with centring ring facilitate the optimization of the flange joint by the reduction of the gasket’s sealing area; metal centring part allows for adding the elements adju-sting the gasket which facilitates the installation, e.g. in case of vertical flanges. Gaskets in custom styles can be ma-nufactured without impregnation, e.g. GUS®30 W from SIGRASEAL® sheet or with additional anti-adhesive protec-tion from SIGRAFLEX® C2A sheet.
