Gasket parameters 

  • Factors given in the tables are specified for the tightness class LO,01 (according to DIN 28090-1). If there is a need to apply the tightness class that is lower, the engineer designing the installations may lower the factors accordingly. Faktors for ASME standard may be used in calculations made in BS 5500 and PN EN 286 standards, and for standard AD_Merkblatt, used for calculations according to DIN V 2505 January 1986.
  • the same parameters should also be used with additional “W” designation, e.g. GUS 31W
  • for calculations, the width of the graphite layer insted of metal face should be used.

    1. width of the sealing area of the metal gaskets without soft sealing layers depends on the number of grooves
    2.  width of the sealing area of the metal gaskets with PTFE or graphite sealing layers should be calculated with regards to their gasket’s width not the number of grooves
    3. SPETOSPIR Standard gaskets always have graphite as the filler.
